OWATONNA — After more than 15 years with the Rice Steele 911 Center, Jill Bondhus has been promoted to Administrator.
Last week the Rice Steele 911 Center Joint Powers Board approved an employment agreement at its meeting in Owatonna, making Bondhus the third administrator in the organization’s history.
“I was perfectly happy being Operations Manager doing all the things I was doing, but I welcome the challenge and the opportunities I have to grow our agency and myself, for that matter,” she said.
Bondhus was hired as a dispatcher for the Center in February 2000 after more than four years with the Dodge County Dispatch Center. And in 2010 Bondhus was promoted to shift supervisor, and in 2012 she became the Operations Manager.
“I like dispatching,” she said. “I still enjoy it today after 20 years. I don’t have any second guesses about doing this job. It’s what I like to do.”
Bondhus was named Interim Administrator in April after Tim Boyer, who had served as Administrator since 2011, resigned. “I think it’s encouraging for our agency to know that staff can develop their careers within our agency,” she said.
